Since its opening in 1978, The Corner Bookstore has stood as a cherished haven for the book-hungry community of Carnegie Hill in New York City. Nestled in a landmark neighborhood, we've been satisfying the literary desires of this residential area for over three decades, becoming an instant mecca for avid readers.

Whether it's history, biography, travel, cookbooks, parenting, poetry, mysteries, or art, our shelves are a carefully curated collection of literary treasures.

Given the vibrant presence of young families drawn to Carnegie Hill by its numerous private schools, we place special emphasis on our children's book selection. From the youngest touch-and-feel books arranged in a cozy book nook to an extensive collection categorized by reading levels, we cater to the literary needs of children from their earliest years through young adulthood. To further enhance the experience, we offer special store charge accounts for children, allowing them to feel grown-up by saying, "Please put this on my account."

As a community-focused bookstore, we invite neighborhood children to participate in reviewing publishers' advance copies of novels for ages 8 to 13. Their insightful reviews are showcased in The Corner Bookstore's Kids Newsletter, a publication created "by Kids, for Kids," released in the fall and spring.
